Diary of a trip to California, 1876-1877.

Holograph manuscript account of a trip by train from Boston to California and back. Written in diary form and completed some nine months after her return to the East, Kimball's narrative describes her trip, from her departure from Boston in March 1876 to her return in May of that year. She writes of the countryside, the trains in which she travels, hotels and restaurants visited, and sightseeing in California, including a visit to Woodward's Gardens and a trip on horseback through the Yosemite Valley. Eight pages of religious poetry and notes follow the travel narrative. Accompanied by five newspaper clippings.
